Brand development

W.Howard has been providing timber materials to the construction industry for over 50 years. Although originally designated as a timber merchant, the company could see the potential of MDF in the mouldings marketplace and the product range is now totally MDF mouldings, available in 120 styles and sizes.

Working closely as part of the team comprising marketing, PR and graphic design, research indicated in summary that the Primer Mould brand identity was known in the marketplace, however, W.Howard was unknown as the parent company. The Spoken-Image design team set about developing the brand's visual identity, creating a mark that encompasses the 'product' while aligning the brand owner to it more clearly.  

 

Developing new products - 
PrimerMould Plus and Eco-Decking

Since the original launch of the new PrimerMould logo, Spoken-Image has worked closely with W.Howard to launch two new brands; PrimerMould Plus - a high quality veneered MDF and Maine-Deck - a recycled plastic and wood composite decking. These new product lines required new identities that were unique and yet belonged to the same family as the original PrimerMould.

To complement the new identities, Spoken-Image directed a full product range photoshoot to be used in any new marketing materials. The new identities and photography have since been applied to a range of media including stationery items, product catalogues, leaflets, advertising campaigns, display stands, multimedia presentations and vehicle livery. 

The outcome;  W.Howard now has 3 distinctive sub brands that reflect the company ethos - professional, quality and environmentally sound. The company has gone from strength to strength and are now leaders in their field.
